ABSTRACT
In this interview (conducted in December 2015), Victor Wallis, an internationally renowned scholar of Marxism and class analysis shares with us his main ideas on Marxism in the twenty-first century and its relevance today, the ecological class consciousness, short history of US left, and the theoretical problems that Marxism needs to solve at present and in the twenty-first century, and so on. We can learn much from his thoughts.

Victor Wallis teaches in the Liberal Arts Department at the Berklee College of Music (in Boston) and is the managing editor of Socialism and Democracy. He is the author of articles, book chapters, encyclopedia entries, web-posted columns, and reviews of books and films on a wide range of topics relating to Marxism, ecology, and left movements. Writings of his have been translated into thirteen languages (www.victorwallis.com).
Zhuo Mingliang (following Chinese practice, the surname, Zhuo, is placed first) is a lecturer in the School of Marxism, People’s Public Security University of China, Beijing. He graduated and got a PhD from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2014.
