Ana Ivasiuc

Ana Ivasiuc is a Lecturer in the Anthropology of Crime and Security at Maynooth University, Ireland. Through an ethnography of formal and informal policing, she studied how Roma migrants are governed as security threats in Rome, then took an interest in far-right security practices in Europe. She published many ‘conventional’ articles and chapters on all this, but feels poetry can convey the qualms of research on challenging topics in a more immediate way. She is thankful beyond measure to the editors of this section for having poked at something that was trying to emerge since she took this photograph in Rome.
