Wither Mental Health Services in Singapore?

Pages 104-112 | Published online: 25 Apr 2012

Abstract

Recent investigations into the mental well-being of Singaporeans indicate that mental health problems are on the rise. These trends may reflect a higher level of awareness regarding mental health needs, leading to more cases being diagnosed. Mental health experts are equally concerned about emerging mental health problems both among the younger population, and the elderly. The author discusses the current attitudes toward mental health, as well as the implications of having scarce resources to meet the rising needs.
