Pages 106-119 | Published online: 25 Apr 2012

Abstract

Help-seeking attitude, knowledge and behaviour of 751 Chinese parents were examined. Roughly 20% of the parents negatively viewed help-seeking and 56.6% of them seldom sought help when needed. Most of them had weak understanding of family services and they rarely participated in family-life education programmes. The interrelationships between help-seeking attitude, knowledge and behaviour were not strong.
