Teju Cole

Teju Cole is a novelist, art historian, photographer and Distinguished Writer in Residence at Bard College Berlin. He is the author of three books: the novella Every Day Is for the Thief (2007), a national bestseller and the New York Times' Editors' Pick; the novel Open City (2011), which won the PEN/Hemingway Award, the Rosenthal Award, the Internationaler Literaturpreis and was shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the collection of essays Known and Strange Things on art, literature, photography and politics (2016). He is Photography Critic for the New York Times Magazine. Blind Spot, a book of photographs and texts, will be published by Random House and Faber & Faber in June 2017.
