The author has studied the biological cycle of P. bipunctata by taking samples in natural populations in sand dunes of french mediterranean coast, and has completed theses observations by an expérimental survey on the size and rate of oviposition, and the effects of constant temperatures on the speed of development of eggs and larvae.
The immature imago appear in september and earth one's during the last week of october. These diapausing imago stay in the sand all along the winter. They become active for the second time on the end of march. The reproduction take place from may to august. In natural conditions the development from egg to addult last two years.
