Summary
The aim of this note is to resume the recent data on the origin and distribution in the world of the Ambers. It also gives a synthesis of the origin, age, working and chiefly entomological fauna of the Baltic amber.
Two new species of Apoidea are described. In conclusion a paleoecological essay gives an idea of what has been the biotope of the amber forest and shows the biogeographical affinities of the groups which are best presented in the Amber.
