Résumé

Description de Smittia celtica, n. sp. (Diptera: Chironomidae). — Une nouvelle espèce appartenant au genre Smittia Holmgren (1869) est décrite de Bretagne (France). La description de Smittia celtica, n. sp. est basée sur plusieurs imagos mâles et femelles, deux exuvies nymphales associées à des mâles obtenus en élevage et deux larves. L'hypopygium de l'imago mâle est caractérisé par un gonocoxite à lobe basal réduit et par une pointe anale longue.

Summary

A new species of the genus Smittia Holmgren (1869) is described from Brittany (France). The description of Smittia celtica, sp. n. is based on several male and female imagines, two pupal exuviae from reared males and two larvae. The species is characterized by the shape of male hypopygium, with a long anal point and a reduced inferior volsella.
