Abstract

We, the Editors and Publisher of the journal Artificial Cells, Nanomedicine, and Biotechnology, have retracted the following article:

Poonam Parashar, Chandra Bhushan Tripathi, Malti Arya, Jovita Kanoujia, Mahendra Singh, Abhishek Yadav, Amit Kumar, Anupam Guleria & Shubhini A. Saraf (2018) Biotinylated naringenin intensified anticancer effect of gefitinib in urethane-induced lung cancer in rats: favourable modulation of apoptotic regulators and serum metabolomics, Artificial Cells, Nanomedicine, and Biotechnology, 46:sup3, S598-S610, DOI: 10.1080/21691401.2018.1505738

Since publication, concerns have been raised about the integrity of Figures 2 and 8a in the article. Specifically,

  • Figure 2a, bty-Gnb, appears to have been duplicated with the same image for Figure 2b, byt-Nar, albeit with some adjustments.

  • Figure 8a, Bty-Gnb, appears to have been duplicated with the same image for Figure 8a, Gnb-bty-Nar.

When approached for an explanation, the authors provided a number of files but were unable to provide the raw data that would support the integrity of their research. As this error directly impacts the reported results and conclusions, the Editor and Publisher have agreed to retract the article to ensure correction of the scholarly record. The corresponding author has been informed.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
