This year’s first editorial has been in the pipeline for a while, so it is a great pleasure finally to be able to get it out. Especially as we have seen a number of big advances and reached a number of big milestones since the publication of the last editorial in 2015.

PMR has now been accepted for indexing and will be searchable in Scopus provided by Elsevier. This is a major milestone for the journal that places us solid in the research field. We hope this will encourage submission of even more high quality papers and assist in the dissemination of the results to a wider audience.

PMR has also been accepted into the Emerging Sources Citation Index by Thomson Reuters. In practice this means that papers in the future will be searchable in Web of Science. I consider this an acknowledgement of the quality of the papers published in the journal and hope that it will propel us onward to even bigger impact in the research community.

The most read article in PMR has now crossed the 10.000 reads mark. This is another major milestone and something that is only achievable due to our open access model.

The whole team behind the journal including authors and reviewers really should be proud to reach this point in just 2½ years of publication.

I am personally looking forward to PMR’s continued journey and the next milestones to be achieved on the way to make the journal among the top of its field.
