Abstract
Nowadays the research on herbs is increased globally. Mimosa pudica L. is a creeping annual or perennial herb having antiasthmatic, aphrodisiac, antiophidian, hepatoprotective, antimicrobial, diuretic, analgesic, anxiolytic and antidepressant activities. The major components said to be responsible for activities are C-glycosylflavones namely, isorientin, orientin, isovitexin and vitexin. The present review is focused on pharmacological actions, preclinical studies, major constituents, plant physiology, clinical efficacy and safety. Further research on herbal drug interactions is warranted as a crucial need of the hour.
