Abstract

Two phenylethanoid glycosides previously not observed in Tectona grandis (teak) wood knots were isolated from 30% aqueous isopropanol extract, purified by HPLC and identified as forsytoside B and isoacteoside by methods of NMR spectroscopy and mass-spectrometry. These compounds displayed notable antioxidant capacity determined using amperometric method.
