Lynn Watson
Lynn Watson is an Emeritus Professor of Theatre at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She has worked extensively as a voice, speech, and dialect specialist at leading regional theatres, including Arena Stage, Kennedy Center, South Coast Repertory, Ford’s Theatre, A.C.T. San Francisco, and the Mark Taper Forum. Her writing and articles have appeared in both scholarly and popular publications, including the Journal of Voice and the Voice and Speech Review (VSR). She led an fMRI study on Fitzmaurice Voicework that received the Dudley Knight Award for Outstanding Vocal Scholarship. Professional affiliations include: AEA, SAG-AFTRA, Voice and Speech Trainers Association (President 2014-16), Fitzmaurice Voicework Institute (Lead Trainer; Director of Research).
