Abstract
The Las Vegas Municipal Court designed a simple computerized system to notify traffic defendants of upcoming court dates and advise them of delinquency in the payment of fines. The system, based on color-coded postcards mailed automatically to defendants at various stages of the collection process, resulted in significant increases in fines collections, as scheduled court appearances, and conformity with installment payment agreements.
