ABSTRACT

Researchers have been extensively studied the outstanding performance of composite materials in comparison with the individual materials. Metal matrix nanocomposites have emerged as one of the functional material with improved properties, contributing to the wide range of applications. Aluminium matrix nano Al2O3 composites were developed by ultrasonic probe assisted stir casting method and hot forging method methods. Then, the afterheat treatment process was applied for further improvement of mechanical properties. The post-processing like forming process results in aligned fibrous grain flow pattern which result in improvement in microstructure and properties. The effectiveness and the influence of parameters on the mechanical characteristics of Al/Al2O3 nanocomposites are addressed in this paper.
