Abstract
This article investigated the influence of amphoteric polycarboxylate superplasticizer (APC) and nano silica (NS) on the fluidity, hydration process, and chloride penetration of cement paste. The results showed the degradation of the fluidity with the increase of NS dosage as well as better dispersion performance of APC. The resistivity of cement paste with NS appeared earlier than that of pure sample, but they appeared almost simultaneously under the same fluidity. The concrete doped with NS exhibited the strongest ability to resist chloride ion penetration, which is beneficial to improvement of the compactness and the resistance to chloride ion permeability of hardened concrete.
