Abstract

In recent years, heavy industries have been increased tremendously worldwide, which leads to major environmental pollution on the living planet. Photocatalytic degradation plays a nonpareil opportunity and challenges in the field of environmental science. The MgFe2O4/rGO (MFO/rGO) and MgFe2O4 (MFO) are successfully synthesized and applied for the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) cationic dye. The structural and morphological feature of the mixed oxides of prepared sample is analyzed and its presence is confirmed by X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and EDX (energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy). Also, the optical feature of MFO/rGO is investigated by UV–Vis spectrometer. The photocatalytic activity of reduced magnetic ferrite is conducted through the degradation of MB dye under solar irradiation. This work mainly focused on the photocatalytic degradation of MFO and MFO/rGO for MB dye.
