Abstract

A series of mesoporous calcium oxide materials with hierarchical porous structure have been synthesized for no-glycerol biodiesel preparation, which was prepared by using stigma maydis as a novel template, impregnated in calcium acetate solution and subsequently calcined in air and expressed as CaO(O). The experimental results demonstrate that the resulting solid base CaO(O) exhibit favorable catalytic capability in coupling transesterification based on three mixture (methanol, rapeseed oil and methyl acetate) under selection of suitable calcinated temperature (600 °C) and calcium acetate obtained experimentally under molar ratio 1/1/8 of rapeseed oil/methyl acetate/methanol and 10 wt% of catalyst consumption at 65 °C for 2.5 h. However, no more than 60% yield of biodiesel can be obtained over commercial CaO under same react condition. Based on the analysis conclusions, it can be summarized that a uniform CaO coat was deposited on the surface of the biotemplate with multi-basic sites.
