Distress after miscarriage: Relation to the knowledge of the cause of pregnancy loss and coping style

This study examines the effects of the knowledge of the cause of pregnancy loss and informational coping style on the levels of distress after miscarriage. Psychological assessment was conducted immediately before and after the miscarriage follow - up session, and at 4 months post - miscarriage (N = 124). A significant decrease in the levels of anxiety and an improvement in positive mood was observed after the follow-up session, regardless of the informational coping style and whether a specific cause of miscarriage was found.
