Abstract
Some new monophenylbismuth(III) complexes of the type PhBi[SC6H4N:C(R)CH2C(O)R′]2 [where R = CH3, R′ = CH3 (1); R = CH3, R′ = C6H5 (2); R = CF3, R′ = (3); R = CF3, R′ = C6H5 (4)] have been synthesized by the reactions of Ph3Bi with corresponding benzothiazoline ligands, H(R)CH2C(O)R′ in 1:2 molar ratios in benzene solution. All these derivatives have been characterized by the elemental analyses, molecular weight measurements, and their probable structure has been proposed on the basis of IR and NMR (1H and 13C) spectral studies.
