Biologically active components of poisonous mushrooms

Abstract

Poisonous mushrooms have attracted much attention of scientists because of the remarkable physiological properties of their toxic components. A wide range of compounds have been characterized. Some of the chemicals found in poisonous mushrooms have widened the horizons of chemical and biochemical research. This paper reviews the recent advances in the chemistry and biological activities, including the mode of action, of these toxins.
