Abstract
Cerebral asymmetries (from CT scan) of 44 men with severe developmental dyslexia were studied. For right‐handed dyslexics, a clear majority showed left‐greater‐than‐right asymmetries in occipital length and width. No such tendency was observed with regard to frontal length or width. The nature and frequency of occipital asymmetries for the dyslexics did not differ from those of normal men. Findings for left‐handed dyslexies are also presented. A possible explanation for differences between the current findings and those of previous studies is offered.
