Recovery latency analysis in younger and older adults: Role of advance information

Pages 87-93 | Published online: 04 Nov 2009

Abstract

Recovery latency is typically defined as the time taken to recover from a previous trial in a reaction‐time paradigm. Across two experiments, it was found that (a) older adults, compared to younger adults, were more likely to have increases in recovery latency and (b) these increases were dependent upon the type of advance information (i.e., prime) presented.
