Pages 59-70 | Published online: 28 Jul 2009

Abstract

Cancer is typically a disease of middle and old age. The survival time of cancer patients has increased. Occupational therapy intervention is directed toward improving the quality of survival time and maximizing functional capabilities. An occupational behavior perspective is used to illustrate occupational therapy involvement with a 61-year-old patient diagnosed as having metastatic breast disease.
