Abstract
In the long history of using herbal medicines in treating diseases and maintaining health, what is the current status of this ancient practice in today’s China? This review briefly described the history, the development, and the current uses of herbal medicines in Chinese society. It focused on the preparations of herbal medicines, training and education of Traditional Chinese Medicine physicians, and uses of empirical and new herbal drugs.
