Abstract

Four basic drugs were separated by capillary electrophoresis(CE) using cyclodextrins(CDs) including β-CD, hydroxypropyl-β-CD(HP-β-CD), heptakis-2,6-di-O-methyl-β-CD(DM-β-CD) and carboxymethyl-β-CD (CM-β-CD) as chiral selectors. The effects of CM-β-CD concentration, pH of buffer solution, applied voltage and operation temperature were investigated. Under the conditions of 100 mmol/L H3PO4-triethanolamine buffer at pH 3.1 containing various amounts of CM-β-CD, baseline separation of the enantiomers of salbutamol, norephedrine, ofloxacin and atenolol could be achieved.
