DETERMINATION OF HYDRAZINE BY FLOW INJECTION WITH CHEMILUMINESCENCE

Abstract

The oxidation of hydrazine by potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) in alkaline luminol solution leads to chemiluminescence. This can be used to determine individual hydrazines using flow injection system. Calibration data are reported for 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine, isoniazid, N-acetylphenylhydrazine, and hydrazine sulfate. The system has been successfully applied to the determination of isoniazid in pharmaceuticals and hydrazine in air, respectively.
