ABSTRACT
Paper substrate room temperature phosphorescence of cryptotanshinone (CTSS) and tanshinone IIA (TSS IIA) were induced on filter paper in the presence of cadmium acetate: Cd(Ac)2. Heavy atom effect on the room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) intensity of the two tanshinones was compared and other various factors affecting RTP intensity were studied in detail. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the linear dynamic range (LDR), limit of detection (LOD), and RSD were 5.75–390.1 ng/spot, 0.082 ng/spot, 1.3% for CTSS, 5.28–944 ng/spot, 0.070 ng/spot, 3.8% for TSS IIA, respectively. Average recoveries of CTSS and TSS IIA in blood serum were 90.5–104.3% and 97.7–104.1%, average recoveries in urine were 94.4–104.9% and 93.5–102.1%, respectively.
