I take great pleasure in recognizing the contributions of over 380 expert reviewers who have given freely of their time to review the scientific content of manuscripts submitted in 2004. On behalf of the Editorial Board, I thank you for your continued commitment to ensuring that only the highest quality papers are published in Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy. Of the manuscripts received in 2004, 40% were rejected by these expert reviewers. I am pleased to welcome new members to the Editorial Board, including Dr. Paolo Colombo, Dr. Jean-Paul Remon, Dr. Juergen Siepmann, and Dr. Jason McConville. The Editorial Board is composed of 42 opinion leaders active in the field. The Editorial Board members were very active in publishing 12 of their original research papers in the journal during 2004. I am also very pleased to report that the Impact Factor of Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy continued to improve over the past few years, and was 0.661 in 2003, which represents a gain of over 17% over that from 2001. This is clearly moving in the right direction and is beginning to represent the high quality of research manuscripts being published in the journal.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Linda Felton has accepted the position of Review Editor for timely book reviews and relevant review articles. In her first year of providing book reviews, 12 books were featured. The journal is indexed and abstracted by all of the major services.

Taylor & Francis, the publisher of the journal, is continuing to introduce many new and exciting innovations for authors. These changes provide for easier electronic manuscript submission for contributors and reviewer traffic, which will facilitate the review and publication process. Electronic copies of manuscripts are sent to [email protected] as single attachments. Hard copies of papers are no longer required or accepted. Please see the instructions to authors at www.Dekker.com.

I invite you to submit your research papers to Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy.

Thank you.
