Abstract
The effects of Mn2+ ions (aq.) on the luminescence of CdS nanoparticles and their self‐assembled films were investigated. The luminescence peak of CdS nanoparticles at 645 nm does not shift, while the luminescence intensity of CdS nanoparticles and their self‐assembled films changes significantly with Mn2+ ion concentration. The lowest concentration of Mn2+ ions that can make the intensity change is 1.0 × 10−14 M. The results indicate that CdS nanoparticles and their self‐assembled films are very sensitive to Mn2+ ions (aq.).
