Abstract
The displacement energy for two layers of particles at an O/W interface was calculated for configurations in which the contact angle is different for the two kinds of particles, both with regular lateral organization. The radius of the particles is assumed sufficiently small in comparison with the drop radius to use a surface without curvature for the calculations. The results show conditions under which the presence of the second layer enhances the energy resisting coalescence of the drops.
