Abstract

The versatility of high-speed countercurrent chromatography (HSCCC) makes it an ideal method for the separation of plantderived natural products. The technique can handle complex polar or apolar crude plant extracts equally well as purified fractions. Sample quantities can vary from several milligrams to tens of grams on the same instrument. Difficult isolation problems, with very similar compounds, can be attempted. Different applications that explore these possibilities are described here.
