Abstract

Regarding Multicolumn Gradient Technique ("Walking Column") by Wojciech Markowski (Journal of Liquid Chromotography and Related Technologies, Volume 27, Number 6, pages 1093-1103, 2004). Significant portions of the above article were found to be verbatim copies of sections in the book "HPLC Columns, Theory, Technology, and Practice", Wiley-VCH, New York, 1997 by Dr. Uwe D. Neue, Waters Corporation. We would like to extend our apologies to Dr. Neue and John Wiley & Sons and encourage readers to refer to Dr. Neue's book for clarification of this topic.

A multicolumn gradient approach is described for the analysis of complex samples. Programed analysis by gradient elution, involving two or more columns connected together through a switching valve greatly enhances the ability to perform separations.
