Simple Approach to the Development of a CCC Solvent Selection Protocol Suitable for Automation

Pages 1923-1935 | Received 07 Sep 2004, Accepted 12 Dec 2004, Published online: 06 Feb 2007

Abstract

One of the biggest problems with countercurrent chromatography, when it comes to its practical application in an industrial environment, is developing a protocol and corresponding solvent system for its operation. This paper critically reviews previous proposals for solvent selection and suggests a scheme that is suitable for use by an inexperienced user and for automation using a modern liquid handling robot.
