Synthesis of Some Novel N-Ribosyl-1,2,4-Triazin-6(1H)-/Ones or Thiones as Potential Antibacterial and Antifungal Chemotherapeutics

Abstract

Ribosylation of 3-aryl-5-benzyl(or substituted benzyl)-1,2,4-triazin-6(1H)-/ones or thiones with 1-O-acetyl-2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl-β-d-ribofuranose gave the corresponding 3-aryl-5-benzyl(or substituted benzyl)-1-(2,3,5-tri-O-benzoyl-β-d-ribofuranosyl)-1,2,4-triazin-6(1H)-/ones or thiones. The structure of the new ribosides was confirmed chemically and spectroscopically.
