HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

Pages 83-89 | Published online: 19 Aug 2006

Abstract

This article is about those human rights issues in British Columbia that affect gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) people and to do so from my perspective as Chief Commissioner of the BC Human Rights Commission. First, I want to be clear that although I will be focussing my comments on the status of GLBT human rights issues in BC, my concern is for the human rights of all British Columbians. I will also describe the work of the Commission and my role in achieving the purposes of the BC Human Rights Code.
