Abstract

Emulsifiers play an important part in obtaining emulsion acrylo-styrene resins. They affect the synthesis evolution path, stability, and generally speaking, all the properties pertaining to dispersion. Further, the emulsifier affects the properties of paints manufactured with these resins.

There is an optimum combination of emulsifiers (type, quantity, distribution rate), which corresponds to every application or mixture of monomers.

This paper intends to study the influence of the emulsifier types, a combination of two types of anionic emulgators, and distribution manner on resins to obtain a coating with optimal washability and mechanical properties.
