Study on the pulsating extrusion characteristics of polymer melt through round-sectioned die

Pages 115-132 | Published online: 15 Aug 2006

Abstract

The extrusion characteristics of a round-sectioned die when vibration force field is introduced into a whole plasticating and extrusion process has been studied in this article, and the mathematical models of pulsating extrusion characteristics of a round-sectioned die have been set up; meanwhile, experiments are carried out. By comparing the theoretical analyses with the experimental results, this paper has explained why the electromagnetic dynamic plasticating extruder, invented by Jinping Qu, has so many good characteristics such as low energy consumption, high output, and excellent quality of the extruded products.
