SILICA ACETATE COMPLEX OF N2O4: A HIGHLY EFFICIENT REAGENT FOR THE SELECTIVE CONVERSION OF THIOETHERS TO THEIR CORRESPONDING SULFOXIDES

Abstract

Complexation of gaseous N2O4 with acylated silica gel affords a molecular addition compound, which is a highly efficient oxidizing agent for the conversion of thioethers to sulfoxides.
