ABSTRACT

(S)-(+)-2-(6′-methoxy-2-naphthyl) propanoic acid has been prepared from (6-methoxy-2-naphthyl)-1-propanone and d-mannitol with ZnCl₂ catalysis by 1,2-aryl enantioselective migration in high yields.
