AN EFFICIENT METHOD FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF α,β-UNSATURATED ACYL AZO COMPOUNDS WITH NaNO₂/NaHSO₄ · H₂O/SiO₂

ABSTRACT

A combination of sodium hydrogen sulfate and sodium nitrite in the presence of SiO₂ was used as an effective oxidizing agent for the oxidation of aryl substituted α,β-unsaturated acyl hydrazides to their corresponding azo compounds at room temperature with excellent yields.
