An Efficient and Convenient Method for the Synthesis of Dialkoxymethanes Using Kaolinite as a Catalyst

Abstract

A one pot synthesis of dialkoxymethanes (2a–h) is described from the reaction of alcohols (la–h) with paraformaldehyde under reflux in the presence of catalytic amount of kaolinite.
