Facile Synthesis of 2H-1,4-Benzothiazin-3(4H)-ketoximes and 2H-1,4-Benzoselenazin-3(4H)-ketoximes Promoted by SmI₂

Abstract

2H-1,4-Benzothiazin-3(4H)-ketoximes and 2H-1,4-benzoselenazin-3(4H)-ketoximes were synthesized by the reductive cyclization of bis(o-nitrophenyl) disulfides or diselenides with aromatic or aliphatic β-nitroethylenes using SmI₂ in moderate to good yields under mild conditions.
