Facile Synthesis of 2′‐Acetamido‐m‐terphenyls via Suzuki Coupling

Abstract

Reaction of 2′‐amido‐m‐terphenyl with NaOH and Br₂ gave substituted phenanthridinone instead of undergoing rearrangement to give acetamido‐m‐terphenyl. Thermolysis of 2′‐azido‐m‐terphenyl also gave the phenanthridinone in good yield. The synthesis of 2′‐m‐terphenyls was accomplished via Suzuki coupling.
