Abstract

An expedient synthesis of 5‐alkyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐1,4‐benzodioxins by intramolecular cyclization of 2‐(2‐bromoethoxy)‐3‐alkylphenols prepared from 2‐alkylphenols is described.
