Abstract

3,4‐Dihydropyrimidin‐2‐(1H)‐one were prepared by Biginelli condensation of aldehyde, 1,3‐dicarbonyl compound and urea under solvent‐free condition at 80°C with magnesium chloride hexahydrate as catalyst.
