Abstract

Ten new transition metal complexes of benzoylhydrazone (L1H2) and salicylylhydrazone (L2H3) of ω‐bromoacetoacetanilide have been synthesized. These complexes were characterized mainly by elemental analyses, molar conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements along with electronic, infrared, and 1H NMR spectral studies. Antifungal tests of the ligands and their Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes were also carried out. The antifungal activities of the complexes were greater than those of the ligands.
