M. Gail Hickey

M. Gail Hickey is an Associate Professor of Education in the School of Education, Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

This study could not have been completed without the assistance of my institution in the form of a sabbatical, or without the encouragement and constructive feedback I received during my tenure as Visiting Scholar at the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race in America (CSERA) at the University of Colorado, and at the Center for Advanced Feminist Studies (CAFS) at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Evelyn Hu-DeHart's comments at CSERA were especially helpful.

A special thank you goes to Umama Farooqui, whose translating and transcribing talents were critical to this phase of my research.
