Abstract
During the investigation of the erosional effects of the rainstorm on 30‐31 August 1997 on Mount Fulufjället, two samples have been radiocarbon age determined. The results give a maximum age of events occurring earlier. One sample of an exposed Picea trunk in the sandur of the stream St Göljån was radiocarbon dated to 1320±120 14C years BP. The lowermost part of a peat sequence in a soligenous mire in the valley of the stream Tangån was radiocarbon dated to 1455±70 14C years.
