Learning to ride the horse: The back and forth of an analytic treatment and setting – the case of Raquel

Pages 87-97 | Published online: 31 Dec 2017

Notes

1. Instead of ataque(attack) which would be the obvious choice in this case, the patient said “brote” which is not customarily used to talk about pain. Rather, its meanings in connections with illness are “outbreak” as in “epidemic outbreak” or “breakdown” as in “psychotic breakdown”. (Translators note)

2. “Perdida” (lost) is also used to refer to a loose woman. (Translator's Note)

3. In Argentina public school students had to wear white coats over their clothes. (Translator's Note)
